Vehicles contain various tools that many of us might not even consider as a threat such as infotainment and navigation systems, where in fact such tools are vulnerable and can be easily exploited, that’s why in this video course “Tool Management” we will explain the relationship between tools and cybersecurity and what best practices can be done to sufficiently establish cyber resilience.

We begin with describing the relationship between tools and cybersecurity and how neglecting cybersecurity for tools can lead to failures in work products and eventually lead to an incorrect product. Further, we will give you examples on tools which shall be managed and measures to consider when managing those tools.

In the second part of the video, we will point out further considerations when it comes to tool management such as, the scope, tools as business factors, interfaces, and compliance. Finally, we will list the major steps referenced from ISO 26262 which provides a valuable base regarding functional safety.
